Favourites Playlists- Autumn ‘24
Oh how I love this playlist… the only way I can describe my music taste over this season is weird. Lets get into it!
These past few months we have been blessed with some insane new music
Firstly lets appreciate Billie Eilish’s new album “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT”
Some of my personal standouts from the album are;
“Birds of a Feather” To me this song captures the feelings experienced during love, love for a friend or a lover. You want that person with you all the time for the rest of your life.
“The Greatest” The song speaks about a kind of disparity that arises in some relationships, one partner is giving it their all, dishing out all of their love, to get next to nothing in return. The line “I loved you, and I still do, just wanted passion from you, just wanted what I gave you, I waited and waited” perfectly depicts this.
Also a couple new tunes from Tame Impala in combination with Justice.
“Neverender” and “One Night/All Night” both songs are classic weird, alternative, psychedelic rock/pop songs… never gets old. Tame Impala has been a long time favourite of mine.
Loyle Carner also came out with “hugo: reimagined (live from the Royal Albert Hall)” a live recording of his performance of this 2022 album “hugo”
I love Loyle Carner, he’s so cool, and this just made him even cooler
Stand outs are “A Lasting Place” and “Desoli (Brilliant Corners)”
Also a couple new tunes from Berlioz to fuel the jazz house addiction
“something will happen” and “joycelyn’s dance” MUSICAL MASTERPIECES!!! Thats all I have to say on that.
Also chucked in a couple rediscovered old favourites…
“Lamb’s Wool” by Foster The People, this song just makes me soooo happy… think driving down a long windy gravel beach road during mid summer with the windows down.
“Fire” by Home Brew, I’ve put in a few Home Brew songs. Was literally the only thing I listened to in 2020-2021, still love them.
I’ve put in a couple Mall Grab tuuuuunes, including his new track “Long Story Short” and a favourite of mine “Strangers” in collaboration with Skin On Skin.
There’s a few Floodlights songs, the kind of songs that makes me feel like I’m driving through a small outdated town in New South Wales… hahah I actually listen to Floodlights while I am doing exactly that.
And of course there’s some Mac Miller, special shoutout to “Soulmate” ughhhh this song… I just love it so much. Airpods in, full blast, dark room, staring at the ceiling and deep in thought.
Anyways that’s all I have to say for now,
Hope you enjoy as much as I do xxxx
